About the event
workers.coop is scaling up its online learning programme. We are offering training on topics relevant to worker co-ops, delivered by worker co-ops.
Training - Peer led Performance Management: Giving Constructive Feedback in Co-ops
Training provided by a People Development Coordinator from Suma Wholefoods, one of the largest worker co-ops in the UK.
An interactive session looking at why performance management is still important in co-ops, but how we can do it differently to traditional businesses and democratise some of the responsibility for dealing with it.
We'll look at how co-ops can create principles based around members engaging in open and honest communication and we'll explore possible systems for seeking constructive feedback from peers.
We'll look at some real-world examples of good (and bad!) feedback given in co-ops, and how useful peer feedback can reduce or remove the need for hierarchy or top-down management.
There'll be an honest look at the problems co-ops face with poor performance, and a look at how collectively agreed policies can help mitigate this.
There will be lots of opportunity for discussion and questions. We'd encourage you to bring real or hypothetical examples of poor performance you've experienced to discuss constructing useful feedback for.
You will gain:
